War-Stories: Honoring the Men who have helped Me!

I know there are a lot of women ministers who have had to fight and wrestle with the male of the species in the pulpit in order to gain the place that was rightfully designated to them by God.  I never really thought about it before being asked to pen this chapter, but I have been living a particularly, peculiarly blessed existence. You see, as a female minister, I don’t have any war-stories of men blocking my way in ministry. Conversely, men have continuously helped me.

From the very beginning the Lord has used men to clear the path for me and make my way a raised highway. I was led to the Lord by a man – well, a man-boy, actually. At the tender age of 14 my then-beau, David Murrow, had murals of mountain ranges and elk hand-painted on his bedroom wall, played the bass guitar and was wild for Jesus. He led me to Him with little ado, and promptly left me for his next girl-friend. It’s funny now, but it was heart wrenching to a 14-year old girl. Regardless, I had given my life to Jesus, seemingly accidentally, just to appease the desires of my boyfriend. Yet, even when I proceeded to backslide for many years, the damage was done, the verdict was rendered – I belonged to Him.

This was great planning on the Lord’s part, because during this period when I resided on the slippery slope, the devil could have killed me any number of times, and probably would have had it not been for the Lord.  Had I not already given my soul to Jesus, I could have easily been on the other end of the extreme.

I spoke to this man on the phone over twenty years later by some chuckle on God’s heart. This came about because my sister, Janis, had known him, too, when we were all just teenagers. She was friends with David on social media, and somehow he got my phone number. Surprised initially at the call, I didn’t realize how grateful I was to him until I talked to him. Many times in public I had already done so, but I personally thanked him for leading me to Jesus. Interestingly, he didn’t remember doing this at all, which is a lesson to the rest of us: we have no idea how much we can impact lives for the Kingdom of God and not even remember it.

From there, around age 28, when I came back to the Lord after walking out my testimony, I was baptized by a male – my pastor at Meadows Fellowship in Las Vegas, NV.  I didn’t know anything at all about Jesus, and if I knew anything I had forgotten it during the long slide backwards.  I only knew that I wanted to be baptized, because I knew that I should be. Later, in my thirties, I went to a four-square church in Denver, Colorado – again, headed by a male. This pastor really made an impression on me, because he dared to speak to the congregation with boldness. He said that he and his wife had gone out to their anniversary dinner, and they – gasp – had a glass of WINE! He taught me that it’s okay to be honest with people, and to be oneself. This is one of the hallmarks of my ministry style today, one unique quality that sets me apart.

Years later, a teaching I heard by another male in yet another church taught me about giving generously, even sacrificially. This is yet another branding  of the ministry that God has me stewarding today. We believe in the tithe and the offering and we give in abundance. You see, God gives seed to the sower, so I figure I’d better sow in order to get more seed! In fact, I think we all should.

One of the first most-important and spiritually shaping ministry moves that the Lord made in my life came at the hand of another male leader. I was asked by this gentleman, Halley, to serve as an usher at the church I attended. This doesn’t sound very spiritual, in fact, probably sounds “less than”… but it was during this time frame that I learned an incredible amount about the spirit realm. I learned that ushers at a church are the gate-keepers, not just the chair-stackers and the water-bottle-picker-uppers.

The most surprising spiritual lesson from the head usher was one of being “sat down”! One Sunday I arrived at church, on time as always, only to be told that I would not be ushering that day. I was instructed to sit down and not do anything. This was so hard for me! But I was told that I had to be obedient to authority, no matter what. I did sit down through that service, difficult as it was, and learned that oh-so-important lesson of obedience at the hand of this man with the gift of wisdom.

Another experientially-obtained, extremely useful gift I received from this man was being taught not to become offended when another takes offense – especially at me! Oh my gosh! What a lesson that was. There is not time nor space to elaborate on this lesson here. However, let it be known – when another person gets offended at you, don’t get offended back because they are offended!

During the latter part of this learning time frame, my pastor, Shawn O’Hearn, actually “sent” me into the healing ministry. A small ministry had opened up near me with a focus on healing. Another of the female ushers and I made plans to go to this ministry to learn about healing. However, I didn’t want to just GO to this ministry … I wanted to be SENT! I had learned enough by then to know that there is a difference, and I wanted to be sent by leadership. Since my heart was to stay in obedience, I went to my pastor and asked him to send me to this ministry. Busy person that he was, he waved his hand at me, nonchalantly, almost pooh-poohing me, and said, “Yeah, Edie. Go ahead.”

That was NOT what I had in mind! I wanted him to SEND me to this ministry. When I said those words to Pastor Shawn, that I wanted him to actually SEND me, he graciously stood up, faced his hands out toward me and decreed and declared some things over me. He effectively sent me into the healing ministry!  He made a grandiose display of it, not flippantly, but I really don’t think that either one of us realized the spiritual ramifications of this request of a spiritually immature believer. But God knew! I was definitely SENT into the healing ministry that day…first to this small ministry, and then to healing ministry giant Joan Hunter Ministries!

But, perhaps one of the most important human males that has impacted this ministry is not even a native of our land, yet, he is a brother in the Kingdom – my Canadian friend, Darren Canning. Having met him and ministered to him initially as only a host-home, over a number of seasons we became very good friends. When he started to show up on the Elijah List, I was very impressed, since I had been reading it for what felt like forever. After that he started up his own prophetic blog and asked me to contribute some of my writings to it. Of course, I was honored and I did.  After a period of time, I asked him to share some of my work with the leader of the Elijah List, Steve Shultz, and although he was a bit reluctant to ask outright, he assured me that my writing would be seen by the powers that be.

He could not have been more right! The leadership at the Elijah List saw some of my prophetic words that God had given me on Darren’s blog and liked them. Even though they didn’t choose to pick up the first couple of posts that I made on this prophetic blog, they were very encouraging, and told him to tell me to keep it up.  I did, and the rest is history. I have been contributing to the Elijah List for many years now, as well as multiple other prophetic newsletters, including Spirit Fuel and others that I don’t even know the names of in other nations. However, any time I go to search for my name online, another new prophetic blog or newsletter has linked and re-posted a prophetic word. I say this with the utmost humility, and I am totally awed by what God has done and is still doing. It is what He is YET to do that has me most excited!

Incidentally, appearing on the Elijah List once was a life-goal for me! It was a dream, not even a “bucket-list” item. I must say, with total humility, that appearing on it as a regular contributor is, without a doubt, one of life’s most fulfilling Easter eggs: those things that God hides FOR us, rather than FROM us! These secrets and surprises are tucked into seemingly random corners and found intentionally “coincidentally”. This is how we know it is God!

Without a doubt the most important human male to impact this ministry assignment in the earth realm is my husband, Darryl. Darryl funded the very first, original ministry event out of our own personal funds.  Even though I worked countless hours of overtime to pay for what I knew the expense would be, at the end of the day, at the end of the year, the ministry was still in the red, and my husband paid the difference out of his own pocket. He never complained that I was gone on the road ministering more than I was home; No, Darryl counted it all joy, and blessed God for the opportunity to bless Him!

It is for those reasons and more that I would like to honor him, the man that the Lord put in my life to make it possible for Him to use me to the extent that He has and continues to do. Darryl is the reason that I have been able, and am still able, to do what the Lord has called me to do: to minister prophetically to those that need encouragement and wisdom in a dark world; to enable them to know that God not only hears them, but knows that they need to hear from Him, too.

And He is, unequivocably, THE Most Important Male to help me in ministry. Thank you, Jesus!

I heard the Lord say, “Go forward because there is no going back!”

Many of us have been faced with extreme, die-to-our-flesh decisions and warfare lately. Fret not, because it is of God.

“This is the LORD’S doing; it is marvelous in our eyes.” (Psalm 118:23 KJV).

During worship the Lord spoke to me, inviting me to take a step forward. A little while later, He did it again. He requested that I do it once more, and then immediately told me to take another step. Attempting to return to my starting position, I heard the voice of the Lord declare, “There is no going back!

Wherever you were before our collective transitions, you are no longer that person! When the Lord asked you to take a step toward Him, you obeyed. He asked you to take another, and then another. Each time you obeyed, even though every move you made toward Him required more crucifying of your flesh.

I hear the voice of the Lord very clearly today saying, “Only go forward, because there is no going back! How far will you go, to come closer to me, to come closer to your purpose?”

Our response should be, “All the way! I am all in!”

Whatever decisions you have made for the Kingdom have changed you. You cannot return to what – or who – you were before you made those decisions in obedience to the voice of God. This is God, and it is good.  There is nothing to go back to!

“Simon Peter answered, Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words (the message) of eternal life.” (John 6:68 AMPC)

Continue seeking Him and following His instruction.  He is the One Who got you started on this path, and He is the One Who will see it through to completion.

Be “ALL IN”! Go all the way and run head-long into your destiny!

Blessings!

Your Seed Has Matured! It’s an Early Harvest Season of Blessing – Out of Season!

I was sitting on my porch doing devotions when I looked up and saw a buck in our field, perhaps fifty feet away from me. We are used to seeing does here, lots of them. There are even two does raising their fawns in our field, but a buck? Immediately I was rapt. A buck is an unusual sight that requires full attention!

Then two more bucks quietly slid into my view, one after the other. Wow! Three Bucks traveling together. I was stunned. Shocked, yet another buck silently showed up – a fourth one! The first buck jumped over our creek bed and wandered into the pasture. I realized I better act quickly and quietly to try to get a picture of them. I reached for my phone to get a picture of these four bucks when unbelievably a fifth buck showed up, hurrying over to the others.

Any buck in this area at this time of year is highly irregular. For more than two or three bucks to be traveling together is unheard of! But FIVE bucks? These guys were full grown, not babies. The only time we see grown bucks is during mating season. So, these fully mature bucks are in our area out of season which can only mean one thing: God is speaking to us. He is moving to supernaturally bless His people, creating a new season of blessing out of season! Our seed has matured! It’s an early harvest!

Bucks and bucks and bucks! They just kept coming! When the first buck showed up, a thought went through my head: “The BUCK stops here.” Immediately afterward I thought, “I don’t want to limit God! He can send as many bucks as He wants!”

My knee jerk thought was multiplication! First there was one, then three, then four and then five! Deer symbolize provision, always, and these five bucks just suddenly showed up! They quietly appeared out of nowhere, seemingly out of season, multiplying one after the other for a steady stream of – well, BUCKS! I had just read about decisions that we had made years ago affecting our circumstances today and I realized without a doubt that the BUCKS I GAVE now equal the BUCKS I GET multiplied back to me by GRACE! Our seed has matured for harvest.

The same holds true for all of us! Sowing and reaping is God’s idea, but here is the catch – you must give something for it to multiply, and you must believe that it will! I know that’s a crazy concept, but it’s Biblical. Elijah did it with the widow woman’s oil and meal (see 1 Kings 17:8-16). She never doubted him. She gave up the very last of her food supply at his instruction; yet in her obedience, she and her household “…ate for many days.” The food she gave became the food she got!

Elisha did it with the woman and the jars of oil but with an important twist!  He asked her what she had in the house that had value and she responded, “Your handmaid has nothing in the house except a jar of oil,” (2 Kings 4:2). Elisha instructed her to go borrow a bunch of empty jars, come back and “…shut the door upon you and your sons,” (2 Kings 4:5). He then told her to pour out the oil into all the borrowed jars. She gave up her most treasured possession in obedience and it was multiplied.

It worked for her, and it will for us, too…if we SHUT THE DOOR ON DOUBT AND UNBELIEF and obey the voice of God to do as He instructs us! He has a plan for multiplication and gives us a formula to carry it out.

Jesus did it with the loaves and fish! We all know that He got a few fish and some bread and multiplied them to feed thousands (see Matthew 14:13-21Mark 6:31-44Luke 9:12-17John 6:1-14). Incredibly, he did this not just once but twice (see Matthew 15:32-39Mark 8:1-9)! Anything Jesus says or does twice means PAY ATTENTION! That is exactly what God was saying to us with this story – not just once, but twice: Pay attention! If you give, it will be multiplied back to you, pressed down, shaken together and overflowing (see Luke 6:38). Don’t doubt, just believe.

Now remember – even Jesus had to block out the voices of the unbelievers as he raised the little girl from the dead! They laughed at Him in unbelief and doubt!

“And when He came to the house, He permitted no one to enter with Him except Peter and John and James, and the girl’s father and mother. And all were weeping for and bewailing her; but He said, Do not weep, for she is not dead but sleeping. And they laughed Him to scorn, knowing full well that she was dead.”  (Luke 8:50-52 AMPC).

Here is another key that may help you. This little girl was the FIRST one that Jesus raised from the dead that we know of in the scriptures. No one in the room with Him had seen a dead-raising before, even Him (in the earth realm)! Honestly, think about it! The parents, I’m sure, WANTED it to work. They wanted their daughter back, but did they KNOW for sure that it would happen? Probably not. The disciples were the same, believing that maybe, hopefully something was going to happen. But were they 100% sure that it would work? Debatable.

What I am saying is this: you can WANT to believe in a promise of God yet still not be 100% sure for it to come to pass. Just be confident in Jesus! Believe that HE is the One Who can do it!

Listen, I don’t have a black belt in faith! When God used me to raise that duck from the dead, I wasn’t sure it would work. I had previously prayed for chickens and other critters to come back with no results. Still, I WANTED God to bring this duck back to life – not for me, but for my husband. I just believed that He could do it, I prayed it long and hard and God did it! He brought that dead duck back to life. In hind-sight, I had closed the door on any other option other than Him bringing it back. I had closed the door on unbelief.

Here are some keys for harvest season multiplication:

  • Don’t limit God
  • Give to God in obedience
  • Shut the door on doubt
  • You don’t need a black belt in Faith
  • Just do it!

We are in a dead-raising, multiplication, revival season of suddenly appearing bucks and bucks and bucks. My gosh! Shout GRACE to it!

Hallelujah!

Believing for Bucks for you!

Have you been seeing numbers? Then you have been NUMBERED!

Many of us have been seeing numbers everywhere! We have been seeing number patterns on the clock, on our microwaves, our vehicle radios, our grocery store receipts. Some of us have been seeing numbers for years, and others have just started to notice them. Some of us have even begun to see some number patterns start to differ, changing from what we have been seeing for so long. These numbers have become so common that entire websites and blogs are devoted to number patterns’ interpretations and explanations!

Why is this? Why is this happening? I have one possible explanation, knowing God’s sense of humor and His affinity for “play on words”: We have been NUMBERED!

I had a revelation recently upon reading the book of Daniel that much like being BRANDED (see Ephesians 4:30) that we have been NUMBERED! Look at this definition:

“Then was the part of the hand sent from the presence of [the Most High God], and this writing was inscribed. And this is the inscription that was written, mene, mene, tekel, upharsin—numbered, numbered, weighed, divisions.” (Daniel 5:24-25 AMPC).

I know, it looks bad on the surface, because most of us know the story.  But don’t worry – it is definitely a good thing to be numbered by God, because God LOVES to number His people!

The short version of this scripture is that Nebudchadnezzar’s son, Belshazzar, was very bad, and he got a very bad judgment, written in stone, as it were, by a divinely sent floating hand (see Daniel 5:5). The judgement was that the days of his kingdom were numbered and ended.

But God! Thankfully that is not us. In fact, to take it a step further, even though I may not know you, if you are reading this, you are probably NOT a Belshazzar. In fact, no one I know is a Belshazzar. I am sure you don’t, either. So, no worries! You are not a Belshazzar, so you will not receive a Belshazzar judgement. That is why you are being numbered!

God wants to number us, so pay attention to those numbers. God meant what He said, too, because He said MENE twice! Anytime God says something twice in His word, it means PAY ATTENTION! He really wants to number us!

“And this was the inscription that was written, MENE, MENE, TEKEL, UPHARSIN-numbered, numbered, weighed, divisions.” (Daniel 5:25 AMPC).

Have you been seeing NUMBERS? Then you have been NUMBERED! You count because you have been counted! God has special plans and purposes for you in the earth realm! Look here:

  • We are numbered amongst the ELECT (Isaiah 42:1)

(Note: elections are counted – with numbers!)

  • We are numbered amongst the CHOSEN (Deuteronomy 7:6);
  • We are numbered as part of the REMNANT (2 Kings 19:30);
  • We are numbered among the 144,000 (Revelation 14:3);

God has numbered us! This is good news! Even the book of Numbers records census results for all twelve tribes – not just once, but twice (see Numbers 1:46 and Numbers 26:51). Remember that when God speaks, we listen, but when He says it TWICE – we had better pay attention! There will be No believer left behind! We have been numbered!

Tekel: The Lord has weighed and measured you and you have been found NOT wanting!

The second thing the Lord wants you to know, in addition to being numbered, is that you have been weighed in the balances and have been found NOT WANTING! In fact, He just now dropped this into my spirit: this is ESPECIALLY true if you have been seeing duplicates, such as 10:10, 11:11, 12:12 and so forth. This means that you are balanced! You are right on track, doing exactly what He wants you to do!

There are some who still require minor adjustments, but at this point in our walks they are just that – MINOR. The scales do not tip much in either direction. We are exactly the way He designed us, for His purposes and for good.

We are right where he wants us, trained up and ready to perform, balanced and in optimum form…as He performs His word both for us and through us! So relax and enjoy the ride!

Upharsin (Peres): Divisions.  God is the God of multiplication! Since the Lord has numbered us, there will be no more loss, no more division. There will be unity where before there was separation. There will be no more “cliques” from which we are excluded, and loneliness will be a thing of the past. The Lord says He is adding unto us and taking nothing away from us.

I feel strongly that there are many who have been stripped down to nothing, pruned to the very core; but now, God, the great multiplier, is taking what little they have left and multiplying it back to them over and over again. Just as Jesus took the mud and spat in it, forming new material for eyes (see John 9:6), I see the Lord taking something simple in the lives of many, mixing it with something new and different, and coming up with manifold, revelatory results. The NEW is here!

There is absolutely NO WEAPON that will manage to disengage us from our God, no matter what it looks like, no matter what lies the enemy spouts. Because, just like Isaiah 54:17 says, the Lord is reproducing the ideal Servant of the Lord in us, multiplying the army of God. The Lord is imparting His righteousness, His vindication into us, multiplying our efforts and taking down enemy fortresses, even behind enemy lines! We have been numbered in the army of God! This is the heritage of the saints.

“But no weapon that is formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue that shall rise against you in judgment you shall show to be in the wrong. This [peace, righteousness, security, triumph over opposition] is the heritage of the servants of the Lord [those in whom the ideal Servant of the Lord is reproduced]; this is the righteousness or the vindication which they obtain from Me [this is that which I impart to them as their justification], says the Lord.”  (Isaiah 54:17 AMPC).

Be blessed as you watch for the Lord’s new numbers patterns for you!

The White Horse is Already in the Clouds, Waiting for its Rider!

I heard the Lord say, “Are you ready for a word?” Eagerly, I responded, “Oh, YES, Lord!”  He then proceeded to download some blessings and strategies for the hour we are in.

Your mountaintops are greener and cleaner

Immediately I saw clouds at close range and the tops of mountains: lush, green and pristine. To my right, Jesus invited me in with the wave of an arm. I heard the Lord say, “Your mountaintops are greener and cleaner.” He is inviting us into new mountaintop experiences, more frequently than we have before and greener – smacking of new life. They will come more easily, without all the warring to get into the heavenlies as many of us have had to do for so long.  We will be living in these lush mountaintops in the natural, too – from glory to glory! The miracles in our lives will be clearly seen, and undeniably of God.

Yesterday deliverance; today infilling

Next, I heard the Lord say, “Yesterday deliverance; today infilling.” I know many will agree that we have been repeatedly fine-tuned over the last few months and years, continuously purged of sin and ungodly thought processes. We have been faced with situations that have put us into direct conflict with the enemy. These situations have forced us to choose either the enemy’s way or God’s way. Thankfully, most of us have passed that test! We have literally been delivered from evil! I felt the Lord was comforting us, letting us know that this period of great trial and testing is completed and that now we can enjoy being filled with the fruits of our labors – both in the spirit and in the natural! Receive the Holy Spirit!

“And having said this, He breathed on them and said to them, Receive the Holy Spirit!(John 20:22 AMPC).

Put Peace between you!

I heard Him say, “Put peace between you.” Many of us still carry wounds that cause us to react instead of respond when others “push our buttons”. The Lord is giving us a strategy to overcome this time-wasting, stressful, hurtful tactic of the enemy. Whenever we are put into a situation that causes the old man to want to resurrect, don’t react. Instead, praise Jesus – literally! Open your mouth and begin to praise Jesus! Don’t let the enemy steal your peace. Put Jesus – our Prince of Peace – between you and whatever or whoever is trying to steal your peace. The enemy won’t hang around long when he is in the flow of heaven aimed directly at him by the power of our words!

Speak out to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, offering praise with voices [[a]and instruments] and making melody with all your heart to the Lord,” (Eph 5:19 AMPC).

Trust Me, believe in Me and I will get you where you are going

I heard the Lord say, “Trust Me. Believe in Me. I will get you where you are going.” I knew exactly what He meant! My husband had a dream the other night that he was lost in the subway. A subway turnstile attendant told him that none of the train lines that he could choose would get him where he was trying to go. He went on to tell Darryl that he couldn’t walk there, it was too far. He couldn’t even drive there. The subway attendant told him that the only way he could get there was if the attendant took him there himself! This speaks volumes! The Lord was telling Darryl – and by extension, the rest of us – that he cannot get to his destination under his own power. It must be supernaturally, by God, and by God alone! Trust God in this season, and I mean, REALLY trust Him. Trust and Believe! He will get you where you need to be.

Jesus replied, This is the work (service) that God asks of you: that you believe in the One Whom He has sent [that you cleave to, trust, rely on, and have faith in His Messenger]. (John 6:29 AMPC).

The white horse is already in the clouds waiting for its rider

The next thing I saw was the sky again, but this time, it was from a distance, and the clouds were moving rapidly. They were pink and orange, streaming across the sky as if in time lapse photography. Yet, in the middle of the sky was a stationary cloud, one lone cloud that was not moving. It was slowly changing colors, turning from gray to white. As I pressed in closer to see what it was, at first all I could make out was wings. Pushing in to see what it was, I realized it was the shape of a horse – a white horse! What I heard next exploded in my spirit: “The white horse is already in the clouds, waiting for its rider!” Jesus is coming back! The time of His return is so close that His horse is already saddled up and waiting, ready for Him to mount up and ride!

Get your army boots on

I then heard, “Get your army boots on.” People of God, His warriors and army: Get into battle gear! Get your boots on! Get into alignment, into your troupe, company and regiment. Allow God to place you where He wants you to be, setting you down on the grass in groups of fifties and hundreds, just as when He fed the five-thousand.

“Then He commanded the people all to recline on the green grass by companies. So they threw themselves down in ranks of hundreds and fifties [with the [r]regularity of an arrangement of beds of herbs, looking [s]like so many garden plots].” (Mark 6:39-40 AMPC).

There is far more power in unity than we will ever know! We must be geared up and ready to battle when and where the Lord calls us in this season…shoulder to shoulder with whom He wants us.

Teach your children and shake the world!

Lastly, I heard the Lord say, “Teach your children. Family lines two and three generations deep will shake the world!” Choose to be a world shaker by teaching your children to be world shakers! Jesus turned it upside down and they can, too! Our children will one day lead the world. We have control of what that looks like by teaching them now the way that they should go, so that when they get there they will not depart from it (see Proverbs 22:6).

Thank you, Jesus, for speaking to your people! Lord, we choose to be earth shakers and world changers. We have our army boots on as we await your arrival on your white horse! We trust and believe in You as you lead and guide us where you want us to go. Thank you for the infilling and trips to the mountaintops to be with you. We love you Lord! Amen.

I heard the Lord say, “Life is like dividing flowers!”

Forrest Gump said, “Life is like a box of chocolates…” I heard the Lord say, “Life is like dividing flowers!”

I bought some flowering hanging baskets at the grocery store the other day to brighten up my back porch. They kept wilting, however, no matter how much water I gave them they would dry out almost instantly. My husband said, “You get what you pay for!”

But I was determined to figure out why they were not thriving. Upon closer inspection, I realized there were way too many flowers in each pot, and they were overcrowded. Pretty to look at in the short run, as long as they last; totally unhealthy in the long run, since they are all competing for the same water and nutrients.

This morning I set about dividing up the flowers into two hanging baskets. I lined one basket with fertilized dirt (thank you rabbits from last year) and carefully inserted my fingers into the tangled mass of flowers and stems, moving some flower stems over to the other side of the pot to avoid breaking them. Once I saw a clear path on the surface of their existing soil, I stuck my fingers deep in between them, dividing the soil all the way to the bottom of the pot.

As I did this, I could hear a slight tearing sound, and realized, as I slowly separated the one hanging plant into two parts, that roots were being severed. As I gently pulled one of the sections out of the basket, several flower heads dropped off, as did a few leaves. There were many roots exposed, hanging out of the dirt in my hands. As I set the section into the new pot, I saw so clearly how root bound this flowering hanging basket truly was.

It was then that I heard the Lord say, “This is how life is – like dividing flowers. No matter how careful I am, some will be hurt. No matter how gentle I am, some will lose their heads and leave.”

“Jesus said to the Twelve, Will you also go away? [And do you too desire to leave Me?]” (John 6:67 AMPC).

I walked into my kitchen to get some water for the two new potted plants as the Lord continued.

“The same is true of my children. It is for their best benefit that they separate from their current circumstances. They are root bound, although they feel they are where they are supposed to be. In truth, they are competing with each other for water, and food. But since their roots are completely intertwined, some of them will be torn apart and injured – because they simply will not let go.”

“Some will go into shock. Some may not make it … if they do not choose to dig in to their new soil, which I have prepared for them beforehand – a new home, a new land.”

“For we are God’s [own] handiwork (His workmanship), recreated in Christ Jesus, [born anew] that we may do those good works which God predestined (planned beforehand) for us [taking paths which He prepared ahead of time], that we should walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us to live].” (Ephesians 2:10 AMPC).

“However, some will indeed grow and bloom and blossom in the new place into which I have set them! They will thrive, and not just survive.  They will spread and increase and fruit at my hand.”

“Allow me to be The Great Divider. I am just, and I am gentle. Trust Me and allow me to separate you from situations that are not allowing you to grow and bloom and blossom. Choose to thrive in the new land under my hand, in my care,” says God.

“Who caused His glorious arm to go at the right hand of Moses, Who divided the waters before them to make for Himself an everlasting name….” (Isaiah 63:12 NASB).

“Some parts of your life will die, and that’s OK! They need to! They are not part of your future, your destiny. Allow them to die and fall to the ground.”

“Be the flowers that choose to bloom in fresh soil, soil that is fertilized and ready to feed you in your new land.”

“And He brought us into this place and gave us this land, a land flowing with milk and honey.” (Deuteronomy 26:9 AMPC).

IT HAPPENS AT NIGHT! IN THE DARKNESS!

IT HAPPENS AT NIGHT!  IN THE DARKNESS! Get ready for a BUT GOD, first-day-of-the-week, early dawn, stone-rolled-away, empty-tomb encounter with God’s TRUE plan for your life! (Luke 24:1-3)

Your SUDDENLY is alive! Just as the women went to Jesus’ burial site, embalming spices in hand, ready for “business as usual”, didn’t expect Him to be gone but found an empty tomb! They didn’t expect Him to be alive, even though He had told them He would be (see Matthew 16:21, Mark 9:31)! They were just going to work, like normal, natural people with a normal, natural mind-set, expecting the usual.

They expected Him – and their dreams – to be dead and buried. But God is alive, and so are His suddenlies!

It was the day of Preparation [for the Sabbath], and the Sabbath was dawning (approaching).  The women who had come with [Jesus] from Galilee followed closely and saw the tomb and how His body was laid.  Then they went back and made ready spices and ointments (perfumes). On the Sabbath day they rested in accordance with the commandment,” (Luke 23:54-56).

Notice that the women “…rested in accordance with the commandment,” (Luke 23:56). They were forced to rest! They were forced to wait an entire day before they could go and anoint His body. Why? Because during those long, painful hours beginning at sundown, in the dark of night, during the Sabbath, the Lord was doing a mighty, resurrection-power work! Sometimes He forces us to enter into rest, a FORCED waiting period  – so He can work in the darkness!

THERE HAD TO BE A NIGHT OF DARKNESS for dawn to appear! I am telling you now, as surely as Luke 24:1 says, But on the first day of the week, at early dawn…” your daybreak will bring a SUDDENLY of biblical proportions! It is alive! There is always a BUT with God! In the early dawn hours, as you rise to perform yet another mundane, normal, natural day of “business as usual”, God has other plans, and they are good (see Jeremiah 29:11)!

Today is only the day of preparation! Our Supernatural God has supernatural plans for His supernatural progeny – You and Me! We don’t get to live by normal standards! We get to live supernaturally, according to His plans and purposes for our lives! We get to walk up to the tomb and find it empty! We get to go to work, just like normal, and find that God has supernaturally turned it all around – SUDDENLY! We GET to see what was once dead is SUDDENLY ALIVE!

It happens at NIGHT! IN THE DARKNESS! While we are in a forced position of rest – according to the commandment – God is working to turn it all around for our good, because we are called by His name according to His purposes (see Romans 8:28)! Go ahead and rest easy, because God is at work!

Get ready, get ready, get ready! Your daybreak is coming! Your waiting period is almost over! Once Your supernatural SUDDENLY has happened, OVERNIGHT your entire destiny will change!

I know you can hardly wait to wake up now! I am so excited for you!

Many blessings from the Living God, King of the Living Suddenly!
