Your words are the paint on the canvas of your life!

DCF 1.0I was praying over the ministry vision statement this morning in my computer word processing program.  As I slowly scrolled down the page praying over each item, I found myself at the bottom of the page and scrolled onto the next.  To my surprise, it was totally blank.  I was so engrossed in the declaring of the vision that I didn’t realize I had come to the end of the document, subsequently moving onto the next page.  It was blank.

I felt in my spirit that it was the future, waiting to be written.

Of course, then the enemy lied to me, saying I had deleted some stuff.  Wasn’t there something on that page before?  After rebuking him, I declared that it was the future, a blank canvas onto which I will spread the paint of my words.

I have heard it said that colors have frequencies and that means the opposite is also true – that the frequencies of your words create color.  Your words color your world.

Most colors as symbols have several descriptors associated with them.  That means that whatever you say, positive or negative, you are speaking in color.

RED = PASSION, Anger or the Blood of Jesus.  Do you “see red”?  That means you are angry.  Passion also is associated with the color red, and of course it also stands for the blood of Jesus.  Are you painting a picture of the life of Christ?

Yellow = COURAGE, friendship, a gift.  A cowboy in an old spaghetti western would call you a “yellow-bellied sap-sucker”, meaning you are a coward.  Conversely, it also can mean you are brave!  Are you offering your friendship?  Are you generous and giving of your time and resources?

Blue = HOLY SPIRIT.  Blue is associated with the color of water and the color of the sky, thus Holy Spirit is associated with the color blue.  Powder blue can mean the color of flesh and selfishness.  Is there a lot of blue on your canvas?  What shade is it?

Black = DEATH, Negativity.  Legalism (i.e., Black and White)  Enough said!  Under certain sets of circumstances it can also mean prosperity, i.e., being “in the black”.  However, having a “dark cloud over your head” is the end result of speaking negatively.  Speak life!

White = PURITY, chastity, cleanliness.  “Pure as the driven snow” is a great phrase for this color.  All through the Bible we see parables that use white as a symbol of purity;  linen is also a symbol of purity and is white.  Jesus is light, you are salt and light He said, a lamp that cannot be hidden under a bushel basket.

Pink = COVENANT or the watering down of the Word.  Speaking in covenant terms and upholding the covenant of God is coloring your world pink.  In Ezekiel 36:26 God promises to give His people a new heart, a heart of (pink) flesh and take away their heart of stone.   This is His covenant with His people.  It is also true if you compromise the Gospel.  If you water down the Blood, it’s no longer blood red, it’s another color – pink!

God can see the difference in the frequencies of these colors, positive and negative.  He alone knows and can see the totality of your life’s work!

The next time you open your mouth, think of the words that are coming out as different tubes of acrylic paints that you are squeezing out onto your tongue, the paintbrush of your life!  What are you painting on your canvas?  What would you LIKE to see there?   If what you are painting is not what you would like to see, the solution is simple — change colors!

God says, “I am building, fashioning and molding!”

foundationSeveral times recently I have had the name “Coniah” resonate in my spirit.  This morning I asked the Lord to tell me what He wanted to say.

I knew already that Coniah was a shortened version of the name Jehoichin, son of Jehoikim, one of the kings in the old testament.  I also knew the prophet Jeremiah was tied in somehow too, but that is really all I knew.  Mostly I remembered the Bible TV show version of the king Jehoichin whose sons were murdered in front of him and his eyes gouged out by Nebuchadnezzar the Babylonian king.  Actually, I thought of king Coniah in a pretty negative light.

So, as I studied the name “Coniah” this morning, I was really surprised that the very first thing I saw was “Yah is creating”!

It was then I heard God say, “I am building, fashioning and molding!”

God is the master builder.  He is creating right now, creating something new, creating something good out of the bad, creating the new wine for the new wineskins (Mk. 2:22).  We all know it, we all feel it.  We are yet to know what “it” looks like!  But we know it’s coming, and quickly.   It’s very exciting to know that Yah is creating!

He is building on an existing foundation.

Here’s even more good news – God always builds on an existing foundation!  If your foundation is solid, He can build on it.  “12 But if anyone builds on the foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw, 13 each one’s work will be clearly shown [for what it is]; for the day [of judgment] will disclose it, because it is to be revealed with fire, and the fire will test the quality and character and worth of each person’s work. 14 If any person’s work which he has built [on this foundation, that is, any outcome of his effort] remains [and survives this test], he will receive a reward (1Cor. 3:12-14 Amp.).”

God has already checked your foundation in 2015.  You may not even have realized it, but it has been weighed and measured, tested, poked, prodded, bent, stretched and pulled!  You may even feel like the “crash-test dummy”!  He did all of this because He needed you to know what your foundation was made of.  You needed to go through the “day of judgement” (tests of 2015) because you needed and still need to know “what you’re made of” – that you are, in fact, THE RIGHT STUFF!  Now, just trust and believe that God is going to build on what He has already started!

He is ready to build on what He has already established in your life!  In 2016 you will receive more Gold (Revelation), more Silver (Wisdom), and more Precious Stones – Spiritual Gifts, Treasures, Anointing, Inheritances and all the things that are of God!  All the good stuff is coming!  Believe it!

God also said He is FASHIONING.

Although the word “fashioning” is similar to “molding”, it has a subtle difference.  True, it means to give a particular shape or form to something, or to make something.  But it also means to accommodate, adjust and adapt to fit!  In other words, it means to “tweak” or fine-tune.

If your foundation is just slightly out of whack, out of alignment, out of kilter – God will be FASHIONING it.  He will be adjusting and adapting your situation to make sure that your foundation is ready to build upon this year.  It’s just a minor tweak, a slight change in your attitude or the words that are coming out of your mouth.  Maybe it’s a minor paradigm shift or changing a mindset.  Whatever it is, He will surely be fashioning your foundation in 2016.  He will have His completed temple, and He is ready to build (1Cor. 3:16)!  Trust Him, rest in Him, relax in His faithful arms and be ready for a quick work!

He is also MOLDING!

However, the Lord said He is BUILDING, FASHIONING and MOLDING.  That means that if your existing foundation isn’t strong enough, the correct size, shape or height right now for Him to build upon, He will MOLD it into what it needs to be.  To mold means that He will work it into the required shape or form so that He can continue building!   Molds usually require a rigid or solid structure into which the material to be shaped must be placed.  So, if you are not quite ready for God to build on your existing foundation, He is already working on the mold into which to place you!  You may already be in it, since this is such a time of acceleration.

He will finish building what He has begun!  He counted the cost before He started, and then He paid it!  I guarantee He will finish the good work that He has begun in you!  (Lk. 14:28, Phil. 1:6) Trust Him to do it in 2016!

Welcome to the New Thing in the New Year!  What you have counted as treasure in seasons past is what He will make more of available to you, and continue to pour out and lavish on you in 2016.

Well done, thou good and faithful servant!

How to Hear the Voice of God

bullhornMany times people ask me HOW to hear the voice of God.  It seems as though it should be simple, shouldn’t it?

Well, even though the Bible says that it is the “still, small, voice” in 1Kings 19:12 that we are listening for, lots of times there are MANY voices that are vying for our attention.  Which one is God?

That is a great question!  There is a very simple process by which YOU will be able to hear clearly from God.  Following these simple steps you will learn how to hear the voice of God, to discern it from any and all other input, and to confidently know that you have heard the voice of the Lord.

There is a book that taught me how to hear God’s voice clearly.  It’s called “Ruined for the Ordinary”, by Joy Dawson.  In it she says we all have multiple “voices” in our head – the voice of SELF, the voice of the ENEMY, and the voice of GOD.  Kim Clement says we also hear the voice of OTHERS (telling us what to do) as a potential fourth voice.

So, in her book, Joy Dawson says to silence ALL the voices except the voice of God.  Remember in the Bible where Jesus MUTED  the demons?  The Amplified Bible says He “GAGGED” them, in Mark 1:25 and again in Luke 4:35.  That’s what you want to do, VERBALLY, out loud – command them to be silent, and they will be.  They MUST.
So, here are the corresponding steps that you should take, making all these statements verbally, out loud (not necessarily yelling, although if it makes you feel better, have at it!):
1.  Silence the voice of SELF – say, “In the Name of Jesus, I silence the voice of SELF.”   This works ALL the time, incidentally.  If you are having a challenge fighting your flesh, use this method!  It will give you victory!
2.  GAG the voice of the enemy and all his minions.  Resist the devil and he must flee, so out loud, confirm that you submit to God and you resist the devil, and mute his voice.  Say, “In the Name of Jesus, I submit to my Heavenly Father.  Lord, in the Name of Jesus, Your Word says to submit to You, resist the devil, and he must flee.  So according to James 4:7, I submit to You, I resist the devil and he must flee.  Now, FLEE, devil!  Go and take your minions with you!  I GAG you and all your demons and command you to be muted, in Jesus’ Name.”
3.  Silence the voice of any others who are telling you what to do the same way, verbally command all other voices to be silent. – “In the Name of Jesus, I command all other voices to be silenced NOW.  I mute you, I gag you and I silence you now, in Jesus’ Name.”
The only voice left is the voice of God.  So, ask Him whatever you wish.  He will respond, I promise!

Jehovah Sneaky is on the job!

chapelsignHad an interesting experience today. Darryl and I went to the hospital to visit someone. We couldn’t get into Darryl’s friend’s room (he was otherwise obligated) so we left. On our way in I had seen the sign for the chapel, but never having seen a hospital chapel before, I wanted to see it on the way out.  We walked inside, and a woman followed closely behind.

We walked around for a moment, just looking around.  It looked like a small healing room to me.  The lady that followed us in  signed into the “prayer register”, went and sat down, and we signed in behind her.  I had an overwhelming urge to go and pray for her, so I asked her if it was appropriate for me to pray for her.  She broke down immediately, sobbing from her very core.  I could only hold her, I couldn’t stop her sobs.

I felt as though it was her child, and I asked, “Is it your baby?”  She related, once she could speak, that she had given birth to her child 2-months prematurely because she had high blood pressure.  She didn’t know she was sick.  I started to pray for her, and I felt that she was under intense guilt and self-condemnation, as if it were her fault that the baby was born prematurely.  I stated this to her, and said, “Don’t let the enemy tell you that it was your fault!  Don’t carry that ‘False Responsibility’!”

She said that her boyfriend HAD, in fact, pointed his finger at her and told her it was her fault that the baby was born a preemie.  This kind of condemnation and guilt laid on her by her boyfriend could be life altering, potentially destructive, or even lethal.

So, I prayed with her for a while and gave her a box of Kleenex. She asked me for a hug, which I gladly gave her, a great big, Daddy-God hug.  I told her that God sent me there to pray for her, and that He wanted her to feel His arms around her.  He knew that she needed to feel a touch from Him, feel His love.  She just wept and wept.  A little while later Darryl and I left.

Driving home, I thought how marvelous is our God?  He sent us all the way to the Woodlands for pray for this precious mother, under the guise of visiting another friend in the hospital!

Jehovah Sneaky is on the job.  He is moving and shaking already in this new year.  Make no mistake.  — Edie
