I dreamed I was fighting demons. There were so many! Worse, they were resistant to being destroyed.
I attempted to get rid of them by pointing my finger at them and saying, “In the Name of Jesus, I command you to die!” I was surprised, because even though this had always worked, nothing happened. As I fought one demon after another, I actually got into fear because they were not disappearing; in fact, they were belligerently resistant. A “boss” demon cocked his head, looked at me, and said, “Nothing is happening.”
I ran away! Then I came upon my father who was on one knee next to a toilet overflowing with deep blue water. Desperate, I stood at the door and shouted, “Daddy! Help me!”
He turned to me and said something, which unfortunately I don’t remember, but hearing from my Father activated my faith! Suddenly, I had a different philosophy…I BELIEVED I was going to destroy them! I believed I was going to overcome! In my dream it occurred to me that I wasn’t winning because I didn’t BELIEVE I was going to!
I took the “boss demon” by the throat with my right hand and squeezed hard. Full of faith now, my command to him changed to, “By the POWER of the Holy Spirit, in the Name of Jesus, I command you to die!”
Sure enough, just like in a horror movie, the head of the demon began to shrivel up. It fell to the ground, dead, just empty “skin” – it had no substance. Upon inspection, underneath the “skin” of the demon turned out to be my clothing. GET THIS: Just like a bed that is made to look like someone is sleeping in it, the head was a pair of my socks, and the body a crumpled-up pile of dirty clothing.
Here is what I believe God is saying in this hour:
- The way we used to do things won’t work anymore. I know we know this, but it is becoming more and more apparent every day! The way we used to handle spiritual things is no longer working. In the dream, I pointed at the demon from a distance and spoke to it. That didn’t work, although it had always worked in the past. In this dream, I had to get up close and personal, in combat, literally choking the life out of it. For myself and probably many others, I believe this means that some of the demons we are encountering we will have to do face-to-face, hand-to-hand warfare to win…but we will win!
“Your hand-to-hand combat is not with human beings, but with the highest principalities and authorities operating in rebellion under the heavenly realms.” TPT Eph 6:12
2. God keeps showing me this over and over, but it’s important: WE MUST BELIEVE! We cannot come at the demons in this season with half-baked cultural Christianity. We must KNOW whose we are and BELIEVE that we can win! We must know that all things are possible by the POWER of the Holy Spirit – Who lives in us!
“Fear not: believe only…” – Jesus, Luke 8:50, KJV.
“But you shall receive power (ability, efficiency, and might) when the Holy Spirit has come upon you...” – Jesus, Acts 1:8
“But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.” Romans 8:11 KJV
“Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?” 1Corinthians 3:16 KJV
Important to note: the “boss” demon in your life – the one that is really rebellious and resistant to destruction – is just a pile of dirty laundry! It has no substance; it is all smoke and mirrors. It cannot stand up to the POWER of the Holy Spirit, which is activated by BELIEF. Belief, our FAITH, comes by hearing, and hearing the word of God.
“So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” Romans 10:17 KJV
It didn’t even take shoes for it to be under my feet the entire time!
“And the God of peace will crush Satan under your feet shortly.” Romans 16:20 NKJV
Its body was dirty clothes – the ones traded for Glory when coming to Christ!
“…all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags.” Isaiah 64:6 KJV;
“Now Joshua was clothed with filthy garments…” Zechariah 3:3
YOU HAVE THIS POWER! You have the power to overcome evil, the power to fight demons. You are more than a conqueror (see Romans 8:37). Simply BELIEVE you can win against any and every demon that you encounter – and you WILL – by the POWER of the Holy Spirit in the Name of Jesus!
Pentecostal Instructions. God pointed out this familiar scripture in Ephesians 6:11-18 AMPC that instructs us about our armor when doing warfare. Although this may seem elementary to most of us, He wants us to read it again…and again! More than that, He expects us to USE IT in this season! It’s IMPORTANT!
11 Put on God’s whole armor [the armor of a heavy-armed soldier which God supplies], that you may be able successfully to stand up against [all] the strategies and the deceits of the devil.
12 For we are not wrestling with flesh and blood [contending only with physical opponents], but against the despotisms, against the powers, against [the master spirits who are] the world rulers of this present darkness, against the spirit forces of wickedness in the heavenly (supernatural) sphere.
13 Therefore put on God’s complete armor, that you may be able to resist and stand your ground on the evil day [of danger], and, having done all [the crisis demands], to stand [firmly in your place].
14 Stand therefore [hold your ground], having tightened the belt of truth around your loins and having put on the breastplate of integrity and of moral rectitude and right standing with God,
15 And having shod your feet in preparation [to face the enemy with the [a]firm-footed stability, the promptness, and the readiness [b]produced by the good news] of the Gospel of peace.
16 Lift up over all the [covering] shield of [c]saving faith, upon which you can quench all the flaming missiles of the wicked [one].
17 And take the helmet of salvation and the sword that the Spirit [d]wields, which is the Word of God.
18 Pray at all times (on every occasion, in every season) in the Spirit, with all [manner of] prayer and entreaty. To that end keep alert and watch with strong purpose and perseverance, interceding in behalf of all the saints (God’s consecrated people).
