Go Forth! You are Blessed!

“Go Forth! You are Blessed!” — Noah and the New Year

God has had me in Genesis 6 for the last few days. I really haven’t studied out the story of the Ark, so it was interesting. When I realized that God was speaking to me prophetically about what He is doing right now, it took on a whole new meaning!

First of all, looking at the story as a parable, the Lord took the righteous in and covered them. He put them in a safe place and by His own hand, “shut him in and closed [the door] round about him (Gen. 6:16, AMP).”

Now, in the spiritual, you have been protected, and it was by the hand of the Lord. It has been raining, and the flood waters were rising, and there was death all around you, but you were safe and protected by God. Everything around you was changing, but God had his floatation device under you, and his own roof was pitched over you.

It may not have SEEMED like it. Life may have been kind of stressful for the last season. After all, Noah and his wife and his family were in very close quarters for over a year (a year and 10-days the Amplified says in Gen. 8:18!). Being with family for any extended amount of time can create some tension, can’t it? Have you had some family issues in the last season?

Noah and 7 of his closest relatives were living with a BUNCH of animals. Now, I live on a farm, and believe me I know what it’s like to be around a lot of animals. When the wind blows from just the right direction it can certainly get your attention! I have had baby chicks and bunnies running around in my laundry room. It can get very messy with chick feed and water and shavings and everything else. Around our house sometimes you really have to watch where you walk! I am sure that just as my animals are messy, it was the same in Noah’s world. Have you had to deal with a bunch of messes in the last season?

And let’s don’t forget the bible says there was a light. Yes, just one. One window. It was finished “…to a cubit… (Gen. 6:16, AMP.)” The Amplified says that is about 18-inches. I don’t know if that means it was 18-inches by 18-inches, or what that means exactly, but there was ONLY ONE. One window and a WHOLE bunch of animals. Not a lot of ventilation to air the place out. Can you imagine what THAT smelled like? Have you lived through some stink in the last season?

The Ark was covered with pitch inside and out (Gen. 6:14 AMP). Pitch is…well, it’s PITCH. BLACK. Like TAR. It was waterproofing. I have waterproofed foundations before, and it’s usually a very dark color. I know that tar is black, and it sucks in light. With only one window, there wasn’t a lot of natural light, and the pitch blackness of the tar sucked that little bit in. In this last season, have you felt like you have been just floating along in the dark with no sense of direction?

So, Noah and his family and a whole bunch of farm animals lived in close quarters on a three-story ship, covered in black tar inside and out with ONE WINDOW….for an entire YEAR, plus 10-days. DARK. STINKY, living with RELATIVES, and who knows how many times they got sea-sick!

Doesn’t sound like Favor at all to me! Have you felt like maybe God’s favor was NOT on you in this last season?

But IT WAS – and it IS. The Bible says, “But Noah found grace (favor) in the eyes of the Lord.” And so have YOU.

The messy, stinky, awful, dark season that you have been stuck in was because you have found FAVOR in the eyes of the Lord! It may not have seemed like it, but He purposely shut you away and closed the door behind you to keep you safe and protected! From what? I don’t know, but whatever it was, it was for your own good! And you’re still here! He kept you! For good reason, for good purpose, and now….the GOOD NEWS!

God is letting you out! In Genesis 8:15 the Bible says, “And God spoke to Noah, saying, ‘Go forth from the ark, you and your wife and your sons and their wives with you.’ ”

God is speaking directly to you! He says, GO FORTH! LEAVE THE ARK! LEAVE the PAST behind you! Get out of your mess! Get out of the darkness! Leave the nest! Open the doors and go!

Leave the quarrels with family behind! He is restoring your relationships in this new season!

Forget the darkness! He is revealing your Destiny now!

Even better, in Chapter 9 vs. 1, God pronounced a blessing on Noah and his sons and said to them, “BE FRUITFUL and MULTIPLY and fill the earth!” (emphasis mine)

You are BLESSED! He is COMMANDING you to be FRUITFUL! The word of the Lord NEVER returns back to Him void! It WILL FULFILL its purpose! You will be fruitful!

Freshness and newness of life, open WINDOWS! 5775, this is the YEAR of the open window! Where there was just ONE WINDOW before, God says there will be more, many more! MULTIPLICATION! FRUITFULNESS! It is the command of the Lord, His personal blessing on your life!

Not only is He telling you to go forth into your future, but that you are BLESSED to be FRUITFUL and MULTIPLY! Fill the earth with the Glory of the Lord!

Do not be afraid! Go. Hear the Word of the Lord now, today —
“Go Forth! You are BLESSED!”
