What exactly does that mean?
Strong’s 3788 says that the EYE is, figuratively speaking, your VISION. It is your “mind’s eye”…. what you see in your mind, your imagination, your focus. In short, your vision.
What is your EYE showing you? Is your eye clear? Do you have a clear vision? What is your VISION? Where is it leading you?
Strong’s 573 for CLEAR or SOUND in Greek is haploús (haploós) – properly, unfolded, single – literally, “without folds”, referring to a single (undivided) focus, i.e. without a (secret) “double agenda” which prevents an over-complicated life (becoming needlessly distracted).
Is your life overly complicated? Are you constantly running and working, and feel as though you are accomplishing nothing? Or, do you feel as though you are constantly hopping the proverbial “Christian fence”: constantly flip-flopping between the ways of the world and the ways of God?
If so, check your EYE, because you may have double vision.
Narrow it down to Jesus. Seek first the Kingdom of Heaven, and all these other things will be added unto you (see Matthew 6:33). Have BIG FAITH for what the Lord wants to do for you in this season. Trust Him in ALL THINGS! Understand He wants better for you than you want for yourself! Believe in Him and believe Him. Follow Him. Do everything you can to clear out anything that doesn’t line up with His will and His ways.
You will be rewarded with haplous … single, undivided focus and a clear vision to achieve the goals that God has for you in this new season.
Luke 11:34-36 Amplified Bible, Classic Edition (AMPC)
34 Your eye is the lamp of your body; when your eye (your conscience) is sound and fulfilling its office, your whole body is full of light; but when it is not sound and is not fulfilling its office, your body is full of darkness.
35 Be careful, therefore, that the light that is in you is not darkness.
36 If then your entire body is illuminated, having no part dark, it will be wholly bright [with light], as when a lamp with its bright rays gives you light.
Matthew 6:33 Amplified Bible, Classic Edition (AMPC)
33 But seek (aim at and strive after) first of all His kingdom and His righteousness (His way of doing and being right), and then all these things taken together will be given you besides.
